It’s hot outside! A mid-day cold treat in the break room is a wonderful way to reward employees for a job well done. Although cash is a “short-term” motivator for employees, you can save a few bucks by trying alternatives to show them you care. What is more, creating opportunities to engage with them rather than just paying them as a reward can result in more hard-working loyal employees. Since July is National Ice Cream Month, reward employees with a nice cold creamy treat.
People love ice cream. It really doesn’t really matter whether you choose to serve it in a bowl, cup or cone. Just be sure to make it a fun experience and have plenty of it on hand, so everyone can enjoy his or her favorite flavor.
Oh, BTW… don’t forget about employees with special dietary concerns such as food allergies. Include them by adding a few popsicles or non-dairy frozen treats. If you really want to go all out for the occasion, try a full sundae bar with the works.
Fun Fact: In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream Month and established National Ice Cream Day as the third Sunday in the month of July.
